Deaf Hockeyville 2010: A Success

Photo credit goes to Tim Mallach.   (http://www.timmallach.com/)

Approximately 60 people attended the event (10 people above the maximum capacity, actually). The weather was perfect and everybody had their chance to skate, play, learn and enjoy on the ice. It was nice to see old and new faces, especially the young ones.

Thank you all for participating in the event. The Deaf Hockeyville board members (Matt Brownell, Michael Laing, Rachel Kelly and Tammy Murphy) would like to thank those who helped run the event smoothly.

Bob Rumball Association for the Deaf (BRAD)

BRAD was our major sponsor. Without BRAD, we would have to face a bigger hill. We have extended our appreciation to BRAD for making this event a success by giving them a group picture of the event in a frame that would be posted in Milton Day Centre.

Bolton Honda
Bolton Honda gave us the jersey which now has turned the most valuable jersey and that is, Sidney Crosby's 2010 Canadian Olympic Jersey. We collected the tickets from those enthusiastic buyers hoping to win the jersey and their enthusiasm made at least $450 profit. Connie Russell, an employee of BRAD, won the draw! Congratulations! :)

Special thanks to the volunteers:

Tanya Manktelow - for serving food and drinks

Cory Broussard, Mark Couture and Brandon Mallach for running/monitoring the events on ice.

FUNDRAISING THERMOMETER will be updated by the end of April. Please come back and view the rising, warmer temperature! :)
